BOROUGH OF PEAPACK AND GLADSTONE
ORDINANCE NO. 818

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 754 ENTITLED, “AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF PEAPACK AND GLADSTONE, COUNTY OF SOMERSET AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY ESTABLISHING A TRUST FUND FOR 1) THE ACQUISITION OF LAND FOR OPEN SPACE AND RECREATION, 2) THE PRESERVATION OF FARMLAND AND HISTORIC SITES AND 3) THE CREATION OF AN OPEN SPACE ADVISORY COMMITTEE”

WHEREAS, a local public question was placed on the November 5, 2002 general election ballot by the governing body of the Borough of Peapack and Gladstone soliciting the opinion of Borough residents regarding an increase in the Borough Open Space Tax from $0.02 per $100.00 of assessed value to $0.03 per $100.00 of assessed value, and

WHEREAS, said local public question passed by an overwhelming vote.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Council of the Borough of Peapack and Gladstone, in the County of Somerset and State of New Jersey as follows:

    1. Section 1 B of Ordinance No. 754 is amended to increase the special open space tax of the Borough of Peapack and Gladstone from $0.02 per $100.00 of assessed value to $0.03 per $100.00 of assessed value.

    BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that all other provisions of said Section 1 B remain in full force as adopted on March 9, 1999.

    BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage and adoption and publication according to law.
